Tony Veale

Executive Chairman, BSc FRICS

Tony has over 35 years experience in the property industry, 32 years spent in Australia. He held Directorships in various major real estate agencies for 15 years, where he focused on sales of major shopping centres and office investments. In 1993, Tony established Grosvenor Project Marketing, now known as GDI Property Group Pty Ltd, a private equity house for value-add property investments. Tony has been instrumental in establishing over 35 property funds in 19 years with a total value in excess of $1.15 billion. Tony has established a highly respected and long-standing performance track record in running successful property investments.

Steve Gillard

Managing Director

Steve has 30 years experience in the Australian property industry and financial markets. Steve spent over ten years working for major agency firms in property management and subsequently specialising in investment sales and development site sales for Colliers International and DTZ.  In 1991, Steve moved to the financial markets where he spent six years as a senior analyst for international stockbroking firms, specifically in Property and Tourism sectors. Steve completed many major property and tourism related capital raisings during this period. In the late 1990s, Steve was instrumental in forming and was a director of QSR Ltd, a $90m turnover start up company fast food business. Steve has also advised listed companies in the acquisition and sale of property and related businesses.

Les Towell

Les Towell has over 39 years in the financial services industry specialising in trustee services and private company directorships. Les worked for Perpetual Trustees Australia Limited for approximately 29 years. Positions held included State General Manager Western Australia, Chief Executive Officer Personal Trusts and Deputy Group General Manager.

John Garland

John has 25 years experience in the property industry, most recently as General Manager of a private property investment company focusing primarily on value-add style commercial and industrial property investments. He has extensive experience in acquisition, purchase due diligence, asset management, development and sales in projects ranging from $10m to $100m. Prior to this, John held senior management and leasing roles with large commercial real estate firms working with both private and institutional clients.

Richard Gay

Richard has had some 35 years experience in the property industry initially in the UK with the Prudential, and since 1991 with his own property development company, London and Regional Estates Ltd (LRE). He has specialized in commercial development since 1984, having completed 32 projects, 17 schemes with the Prudential, and 15 schemes with LRE - all of which were profitable. The LRE projects were funded by his own capital built up in the business, apart from 5 where he acted as Joint Venture Development partner to Axa Investment Group. The LRE projects were valued at $100m. Richard has had JVs with substantial property groups including Sir Robert McAlpine, Shepherd Group and AXA.

Cameron Lockley

Cameron Lockley

Cameron has over 12 years experience in the property industry, his experience diversifies into Commercial Leasing, Property Management, Facilities Management and Tenant Representation. These roles were with large commercial real estate firms working with both private and institutional clients.

Cameron is responsible for asset management of GDI's Perth assets.  Cameron is a specialist in, and has successfully negotiated several Green Building Fund applications in Perth and Adelaide.  Cameron is coordinating GDI's Go Green program which is currently being rolled out across NSW, Tasmania and Queensland.  This program incorporates utility audits, Nabers Ratings, energy procurements improvements, sustainability and emissions reports, and mandatory reporting.

Shelley Doust

Accountant, PNA F Fin

Shelley has over 24 years financial and management accounting experience, predominantly in the areas of domestic and international property accounting, property taxation and investor communication. Prior to joining GDI, Shelley held various roles with Schroders Property, Jones Lang LaSalle and the Commonwealth Bank.
